Last week we went out in the cold pouring rain not expecting to find much. However, with the help of a good map for apple trees, friendly residents that allowed us to pick apples and a great ladder, we were able to collect more apples than we could dream of. We then separated the apples into long term storage and short term use. The ones that had no bruises or issues we put into a cold dark place. The apples with some issues, we kept inside to experiment with in the kitchen. So far this week, we have been coming up with great ways to utilize the local and seasonal apples in Uppsala. Dried apple crisps and apple crumble desert are just some of the ways they have been used so far. Stay tuned for whats ahead!
